Regional Museum of Aysén

The Regional Museum of Aysén was born from the desire of the local community, to have a specialized place for the protection and dissemination of natural and cultural heritage. It is located in part of the restored buildings of the Historic Monument “Construcciones de la Sociedad Industrial de Aysén”. This story is reported in the permanent exhibition in Pulpería.

In addition, other facilities necessary for a museum of high standards were built, among them, a building that houses the regional permanent exhibition, a journey through six cultural areas of the region that invites Ayseninos and Ayseninas, to meet and celebrate their heritage.

In this section you can enjoy the virtual and sound tour of the museum. In both experiences we invite you to discover, for example, the Chilesaurus diegosuarezi, a recently discovered dinosaur; a diving suit or the tokens that were used in the grocery store.

Natural History Museum of Concepción

In the Natural History Museum of Concepción you can learn about the history and heritage of the Biobío Region and the country.

Since its foundation in 1902, the institution has carried out protection, research, education and dissemination work, which seeks to contribute to the understanding of the past and present, in addition to promoting critical thinking and environmental care.

In this section you will find a virtual and sound tour through each of the corners of the museum, you will be able to see, for example, a white owl, a plesiosaur vertebra, a funeral urn and a Mawullo.

Gabriela Mistral Education Museum

The Gabriela Mistral Education Museum is an institution specialized in the heritage and history of education in Chile.

It was created in 1941 with the name of the Pedagogical Museum of Chile, whose objective was to house and exhibit material collected in the Retrospective Exhibition of Teaching, held that same year. In 1981 it was moved to the building of the former Normal School for Girls No. 1 of Santiago Brígida Walker, and after the 1985 earthquake it was closed to the public until 2006, when it reopened under the name Gabriela Mistral Education Museum. Currently, it seeks to contribute to the knowledge and debate of the multiple dimensions of the socio-educational processes in Chile, showing the diversity of actors that are part of the debate.

Gabriela Mistral Museum of Vicuña

The Gabriela Mistral Museum of Vicuña rescues and preserves the tangible and intangible testimonies of Gabriela Mistral.

In this section you can visit the Museum through the virtual and sound tours. In each of them you will learn about part of the legacy of the Mistraliana work that is exhibited in the permanent exhibition, visit the poetic garden and learn about the recreation of Gabriela’s birthplace.

Regional museum of Rancagua

The Regional Museum of Rancagua is located in two houses dating from the eighteenth century, and due to their significant heritage value, they were declared National Monuments in 1980. The museum houses more than 2,600 objects that give an account of the remote and recent history of the O region. ‘Higgins. Along with the collections of archeology, ethnography, visual arts, decorative arts and crafts, it also has photographic and traditional Chilean music archives. Much of the period furniture forms our permanent exhibition, where several rooms show settings of the public and private spaces of a nineteenth century aristocratic house.
